Here are the latest news: I will meet the other climbers in Katmandu on Sunday. Tuesday we will to Lhassa (Tibet, 3600m), then we will cross the Tibet and progressively acclimatize. We should reach the Everest base camp on the 23rd. There I should be able to send out emails.
I got some news from our Sherpas Team, they are already at the base camp putting the tents. They will try to put the tents in the advanced base camp and North col as soon as possible. The weather is not so great, snowy and windy. The jet stream is still blowing at the top where the temperature is below 50C.
Few others expeditions are already at the base camp: Russians, Americains and Chineese. The Chineese are 120 !!! They will try to carry the Olympic torch to the top in preparation for the Olympic ceremony next year…
